Uninstalling Bsafe/Enterprise Security Version 5.5.2 or Later

Planning for the Uninstall
· The restarting of TCP/IP is an essential step in the uninstall process. Start the process described below only if you can end and restart TCP/IP immediately following the uninstall. Terminating TCP/IP results in stopping most networked activity including 5250 emulation. Alternatively, you can perform a system IPL which ends and restarts TCP/IP automatically.
Uninstalling from the iSeries
The procedure executes the following tasks automatically:
· Ends Read Operations jobs & removes auto start job entries
· Ends Field Masking jobs; Removes auto start job entries; Deletes the Field Masking profile
· Removes job scheduler entries for System Audit & Dataflow reports
· Removes job scheduler entries for Central Audit extract & clear jobs
· System Alerts : Clears job queues; Removes autostart job & job queue entries; Cancels jobs
· Removes job scheduler entries for SQL Audit & ends SQL Audit jobs
· Ends Compliance jobs
· Ends IDS & System IDS Collectors
· Removes Bsafe programs from exit points
· Removes Bsafe validity checker programs from various commands
· Signon & Signoff Control: Clears the job queues & removes job queue entries
· Timeout: Clears the job queue; Removes job queue entry; Ends the job
· Ends the Bsafe HTTP instances
· Ends any active Bsafe autostart & batch jobs
· Creates a detailed job log of the uninstall process.
1. The uninstall procedure can be run either from the Bsafe/Enterprise Security main menu or from the iSeries command line. To run from the command line, run the following command. CALL RMTOBJ/BSFUNINSTL.
2. To run from the menu, sign on to the iSeries with user BSAFE.
3. If your customer code (product key) has expired, a message to this effect will be displayed instead of the main menu. If this is the case, press F15 to begin the uninstall procedure.
4. If the Bsafe/Enterprise Security main menu is displayed, select the System menu, then select the Uninstall Bsafe option and press Enter or double click with the mouse on this menu option. See below.

5. Press F3 in order to exit from Bsafe/Enterprise Security.
6. If you planned to perform an IPL, do so now. If not, restart TCP/IP. This must be done before deleting the Bsafe/Enterprise Security libraries.
7. Remove the following libraries (but only after IPL or restarting TCP/IP):
§ RMTDBCS (this library will only exist if you have been using the DBCS version of the product)

Uninstalling from the PC
8. Exit all active Windows programs.
9.
Stop
the alert monitor, if active. To do this right-click the Bsafe/Enterprise
Security alert collect icon
in the system tray
and click on the option Stop Alert Monitor.
10. Open the Windows control panel, select ‘Add or Remove programs’, then select ‘Change/Remove’ for Bsafe/Enterprise Security. Click ‘Yes’ when prompted for confirmation.
11. Upon receiving a message that all the components have been removed, press OK.
