Data Security Software and Network Security Audit - Bsafe

Bsafe is a leading vendor of information and data security software. The Cross Platform Audit (CPA) is the multi-platform network auditing solution in Bsafe's range of data security software. First of all it serves as a central point for auditing, by linking together Bsafe's other information and data security products. It does this by bringing security audit data into a centralized database and provides a rich set of graphical tools to analyze, pinpoint, alert and report selected security events and network traffic trends.

The lack of built-in data security in the VSE CICS operating system was the trigger for Bsafe's mainframe security development in the 90s. The SAFE data security software product was developed, and later renamed to Bsafe Security for VSE CICS v2.3. The product is sold and fully supported today. Data security features include rich password handling capabilities, such as encryption of passwords, password control by the user and enforced password policy management. The second, major element of the product is access control of users to system resources and data protection at the field level.

Bsafe Security for CICS - MVS is Bsafe's state of the art mainframe data security software. It integrates perfectly with RACF and TS and provides data protection and masking down to field-level. This is implemented through column-level access restrictions, according to column value, with options to protect fields from update and even completely mask from view, while non-sensitive fields can be shown and updated freely.

Bsafe Security for CICS works at the system level, providing mainframe data security independent from the application.
