BSAFE RELEASES BSAFE/ENTERPRISE SECURITY 5.5 WITH ITS GROUND-BREAKING MULTI-PLATFORM SECURITY & AUDIT CAPABILITIES
Herzliya, Israel – April 24th 2007 – Bsafe Information Systems today announced general availability of version 5.5 of its Bsafe/Enterprise Security multi-platform software. In the new release management for all Bsafe/Enterprise Security products is consolidated into one Windows based cross platform management console. Major new multi platform security capabilities include Windows Server (SQL server) auditing and GUI-based Mainframe (System z) security & auditing and the Cross Platform Audit.
Many companies maintain an IT environment of diverse platforms in addition to their System i servers. This leaves many IT managers trapped in the need of buying different "stovepipe” software packages to secure their full server environment. This results in high cost and does not provide a single company wide view of security. By consolidating management of access control and auditing into a single Windows based management console, Bsafe’s multi platform solution can bring a tremendous benefit for IT managers.
Bsafe/Enterprise Security provides solutions for:
System i Servers
Bsafe/Enterprise Security for System i has been the Bsafe flagship product for the last few years. It is the leading System i security product for access control, auditing and alerting. In the last few years, the product has been implemented at hundreds of companies across the world.
System z Servers
Bsafe/Enterprise Security for CICS in System z has been in the market for over a decade and has been adopted by major banks and government organizations. The product is available for both MVS and VSE installations. Some of its major functions include: manage user profiles and access with encrypted passwords, protect logical and physical resources, control, log security activities, database access control, tailored menu generation, access control for files and libraries. Now all this functionality can be managed at the record, and at the field Value through the Bsafe Windows based management console.
Linux Servers
Bsafe/Enterprise Security for Linux: This product provides access control and auditing for stand-alone Linux servers and partitions on System i. The distributions of Linux that are supported include Red Hat & SUSE.
Windows Servers
Bsafe/Enterprise Security for Windows Server is a new Bsafe product that provides capabilities for Auditing of Windows event logs. Many organizations using System i, use this server in conjunction with Windows servers. With Bsafe/Enterprise Security for System i and Windows companies will be able to audit the activities on this whole environment.
Cross Platform Audit & Reports
The Bsafe/Cross Platform Audit will allow a company to consolidate audit information from the above mentioned multiple platforms in one log. System Administrators will be able to filter the log by various criteria, run (pre-defined and self generated) reports off this log.
With this release Bsafe Information Systems expands its strong support of its customers in their road to a complete and painless compliance with major regulations, such as: Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), HIPAA, Basel-II, CobIT & others, by providing an integrated multi platform solution.
One of the major compliance requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX), elaborated in Section 802-a1520, states: "Any accountant who conducts an audit… shall maintain all audit or review work papers for a period of five years…" This requirement was more recently extended to a period of seven years. For some companies, keeping audit information and the supporting transactions for this amount of time can create enormous amounts of information that can strain disk storage and harm system performance.
To meet the dual needs of maintaining archives of audit information and maintaining system performance, the Bsafe/Cross Platform Audit module provides the capability of maintaining System cross platform-audit data on Windows servers. This allows a company to move gigabytes of audit information off its multiple server platforms feeing up valuable disk space and minimizing the impact of audits on system performance.
Many companies aim for a simple unified process for security management. Bsafe/Enterprise Security 5.5 grants IT managers with time to focus on threats that pose the greatest risk, allowing for high cost and resource savings. With its multi platform security capabilities, Bsafe/Enterprise Security 5.5 gives customers with complex security environments the added value of a centralized security analysis and reporting for their entire network.
